Visiting Killarney

Wild Orchard smoothies and I have decided to visit Ireland! Our trek started by Killarney, with its National Park, and Muckross House. Killarney is a lovely and touristic town situated in the county of Kerry, southwestern Ireland.

1) How easy to find ?

 Since I’m not an Irish native, my main concern was how I would be able to locate the various places I wish to visit… Equipped with a map, I finally left towards Killarney... To my great surprise, I found quite easy to get my way around, as it was well sign-posted.

2) How good value for money ?

There is no admission charge to visit the park so you can go for a walk freely. It’s a good idea of family outing that you can make on the cheap. Furthermore, you can visit Muckross House for 3 € per child, and 7€ for an adult. There are also group rates.

3) Interesting ?

That was quite interesting to discover the history of Muckross House, but also to see all the different species of plants and flowers of the park.

4) Fun?

“Fun” is not really the word I would use to describe this outing (!) as it especially consisted of going for a walk into the park…

5) Where to eat ?

I took my lunch and my Wild Orchard smoothies with me, and ate in a nice and secluded place of the park, so pleasant with nature all around! However, you can also eat in the restaurant situated at the entrance and enjoy your meal in front of a beautiful garden.

6) Would you recommend to your French friends ? If some of my friends had to come in Ireland, I would of course recommend them to go to Killarney and I’d tell them to take time as well to see the waterfalls, why not canoeing on the lakes. There’s so much to do!

7) Smoothie friendly :

If you want to drink some Wild Orchard smoothies when visiting the park, nothing is simpler! You just have to go at the Garden Restaurant, and you will find them!
